200MP CPU-card into a 7600/200?
Possible? Advisable? I figure it will physically fit, and as Sonnet upgrade cards seem to be cross-compatible with all the 7/8/9xxx Powermacs using daughtercards, I got to thinking that there shouldnt be any real reason that OEM 603 and 604 cards shouldnt be cross compatible as the board architectures are also quite similar in the higher-end PowerMacs of that era. The only thing I could see being a real issue is the ability of the PSU in the 7600 to supply power to a pair of 604's vs a single one that it came with as Apple arent known for splurging on power supply headroom. But that said if there are concerns I havent taken into account i may blow something up. Whilst I would gladly sacrifice one of my plentiful collection of 7500/7600 machines, I am not so keen on the idea of blowing up my only stock 200MP daughtercard... that shit isnt easy to get anymore.
Thoughts?

trag is the one who would know for sure, but if this is a Sonnet MP card, it probably will work.

Ah sweet... hopefully he sees this post. Nah it's the stock dual-604e card out of my 9600 I was aiming to experiment with, as I have a Sonnet G3 card in the 9600 mst of the time.

Re: 200MP CPU-card into a 7600/200?
That's stickier. The later Kansas cards almost certainly won't work, but the earlier 200MHz MP card might.

Re: 200MP CPU-card into a 7600/200?
Hmmmm i did find a post on the other forum through a google search that would seem to indicate success running the 200MP card in a 7600, so might give it a go whe I de-spider my 7600. Or i might just chuck it in the binscabbed 7500.
