Re: Spring Clean
Upon testing, there's something wrong with the //c and floppy drives. It only gives "check disk drive" from both internal and known-good external drives. The actual disk drive in the //c has been tested good in my own good //c so it has to be an issue on the logic board.
I've added a G3 iceBook to the mix, though.

Re: Spring Clean
Stuff that has been spoken for has been crossed off the list but if anyone wants anything else, speak up. I'll start taking some of this stuff to eBay in the next few days. Make me an offer.
I've also got this kick-ass Blue & White G3 I should get rid of. 400 MHz, 1 GB RAM (4x 256 MB), 64 MB Radeon 7000, 120 GB ATA HDD running 10.4.11 (100 MB partition)/ 9.2.2 (20 MB partition), DVD+/- RW DL, in a custom "crystal clear" case (the panels from a PM G4 with the paint removed from the inside). Anyone interested? SOLD!

Re: Spring Clean
That G3 looks fantastic!!! I had considered doing something like this to one of my G3's actually... I have a perfect beaten up candidate with a smashed handle, cracks in the feet and scratched up sides which is flashed for a G4 and running a Yikes, chip which I salvaged in pieces and put back together. Was always a bit suss on how it would look with the bare metal chassis behind fully transparent plastics... Now I know the results are pleasing, I might start looking for a dead Sawtooth as a donor now. The G4 side plastics and handles are much sturdier than the G3 ones anyway.
I'd actually be keen of a few of these items, namely the pair of SE's and the iToilet but unfortunately shipping would be a killer on the pocket and a PITA for all involved.
Anyway, I shall unhijack now lol
Stay hungry... Stay foolish.
G5 2.0DC, Yikes G4/500 Sonnet-Enhanced, B+W G3/450, 9600/200MP, 7600/200, iMacs DVSE Graphite and 600 Snow, 7220/200, WGS 7350/180, 6360/160, 5500/250 DE, Pismo, 2x Lombards, 6100/66DOS, 2x CC's, 3x Pluses, 512K, SE/30, SE Superdrive, 2x Classics, IIvx, IIci, IIsi, 3x LC520, 4x LC575, 5x P580, LC, LCIII, //gs LE, 2x ROM 02 //gs', IIe... and I'm outta characters!

Huehuehuehue! They really have always reminded me of some kind of art-deco toilet lid and seat.... I actually remember having a graphic from back in the day making a farce of the iBook in the form of an advertisment for the iToilet and aall kinds of wry tongue-in0-cheek jibes describing "features". Horribly small-minded, infantile and exagerated in the way that only IBM-compatible/Micro$oft fanboys of the late 90's and early 2000's can be, but I'm not gonna lie... It was hilarious!
I remember I procured, upgraded and set an Indigo 466 up at the request of a friend about 12 years back after she developed Book-envy, and being the first real experience I had had with the clamshell, I was astounded by how damn heavy the things are! Theyre damn cool machines, but I could never get around how my Pismo and Lombard had bigger screens and do more stuff, yet are smaller and weigh a whole lot less.! Dammit iHijacked again!
Stay hungry... Stay foolish.

Talk about timely! I was just about to recycle the gutted chassis of my DA & QS'02 PartsBoxen . . . if I ever really get back into the hobby again, that spare DA, will be sporting crystal clear handles and panels featuring a digitalSTATION/G4 logo riff on a killer inner chassis paint treatment.

Re: Spring Clean
Anyone want that Apple //c for $15? The floppy is tested good but the logic board will not see any drives.
If no one bites, I'll throw it on eBay whole or in parts.

Re: Spring Clean
I might be interested, if shipping to California isn't terribly awful.
My ZIP is 94549.
Also, I got the drive, and it looks very nice! It goes nicely with my 128k, which is largely why I got it (I don't have any specific plans to use it, but I won't discard the possibility that I might at some point).

Re: Spring Clean
First of all, I freaking LOVE what you did to that G3! The frosted plastic yellows slightly over time, although the degree to which varies depending on its environment. Mine is still fairly white...ish... but as soon as I saw yours, I knew I wanted to do the same thing. Just need to find an old broken Sawtooth now with a nice case...
Secondly, I am really digging on that Platinum Plus. Unfortunately, I'm sure shipping to 43081 would stab me in the face and leave me in a dark alley.
Daily Driver: TITAN - Mac Pro 1,1 - dual 3GHz quad-cores, 16GB RAM, 128GB SSD w/ 3TB RAID storage, GeForce 570 GT 1.25GB

Collection: **List truncated by forum signature limit** ;)
Looking for: Plus, Color Classic, DuoDock, Portable, Duo 280 keyboard, Q950 CD bezel, TAM, AppleVision 1710AV

Re: Spring Clean
I'm kind of interested in the //c. Maybe I can fix the floppy. Does it use a standard laptop-type power brick? What's the voltage?
And do you have a photo of it?
Thanks!

Re: Spring Clean
What are you going to do with the IIc once you're done with it?
I assume you're getting it for testing purposes only, and then passing it along. Or do you plan to keep it?

Re: Spring Clean
Assuming I could fix it, I'd probably keep it for a few years as insurance, in case something else came up and I needed to test with it again. After that it would depend on how much I fell in love with the //c compared to all the other classic computers I have, which already feels like too many. At least the //c is small and doesn't require a lot of room in the closet. :-)

Unfortunately I'm pretty sure this sick IIc is a "255". (It was actually inquiring about this unit that lead to me acquiring the mongrel ][plus I posted about today.)
Flap Different.
