Rechargable wireless mouse - recommendations?
My previous post about using multi-button mice made me think of this topic again. In college I used a Medion cradle rechargeable wireless mouse and absolutely loved it until it got baptised by liquid hand soap and gave up the ghost. I haven't yet found another one in that same low price range (I bought it for super cheap at Aldi grocery store of all places). So, as I hate switching out batteries, do any of you have any good recommendations? I'll consider any reasonable cost but of course, cheaper the better.

yes it was immersed. one summer upon leaving college I put a bunch of stuff in the trunk of my car including the mouse and a tub of hand soap. well that soap somehow came open and drowned the mouse as well as a box of 9mm bullets which were washed and fine.

Re: Rechargable wireless mouse - recommendations?
thankfully no gun was harmed in the making of this post. funny thing is I didn't even own a 9mm gun myself. i had just bought a box of bullets for use in a friend's pistol. For need of money, I'm down to just my ol' shotgun now. Anyway, haha, is there a suggested site for a good deal on a rechargeable wireless mouse? I'll probably wait and tell my wife thats what I want for Christmas.

Well, I actually use a rechargeable logitech at work. It has a cradle the mouse docks on, and its from circa 2004ish I think. Had it for years, and I actually had to change the battery once, was still able to get the battery.

Re: Rechargable wireless mouse - recommendations?
I missed the part about hating to change batteries, but for anyone else, I've found these to be the bomb!

It feels like a skinny little teardrop mouse to my hand, the only problem is that I try to use the scroll wheel under OS9 now and then because it's on the KVM setup with HP-Maxi, the fully quarantined, AMD powered, Firefox workstation. The tracking speed button is very convenient and this particular version with its rubberized deck feels amazing. I've had several and used them with 2450mAh1.2V rechargeable cells without any problems. Other than misplacing the tiny dongles now and then (by leaving them plugged into various equipment) the only one that gives me any problems at all is my daily driver. I doesn't work if I re-install the battery door, but I count that as a nice feature!
The version I tried that looks like a newfangled Apple Rodent worked fine, but the edges were sharp enough to be uncomfortable. I sanded the sharp angles off and it feels a tad better than this one, but the surface is slick and a single AA is a lot more convenient and gives a better heft to a mouse than a pair of AAA cells, IMO.
I keep a spare pair of bats in a cheap 2xAA flashlight in the bag just in case I need them in either application.
I easily get a couple of weeks of use without changing the battery, BTW.
