multi-button mice - programming the buttons

I'm using a wireless PC mouse to control my two intel imacs and would like to use two of the buttons for Back and Forward functions while browsing. It is Tevion brand and I tried searching a little but can't find any specific software for it for either Mac or PC. Is there any option in OS X to get the functions I'm wanting? I'm using Chrome as Safari's install on one machine is not working and I haven't/don't urgently need to solve that issue.

USB Overdrive is still around, supported up to 10.9, and should do what you want. smile
