cc333's MacShed

Hi,

I don't feel like inventorying everything, at least not for now, so I'll just list some of the highlights. they are not in chronological order:

  • Macintosh IIx (bought a month or two ago from the son of an old friend for $50)

  • Macintosh IIfx (Bought semi-locally for $100 back in early '12)

  • Macintosh 128k (bought around New Years '14 for $330 from Uniserver, and then completed with a nicer bezel and keyboard cable around its 30th anniversary)

  • Macintosh SE/30 (my current one was bought, I think around Christmas '11 from San Francisco for $20; technically my fourth one (I sold off two of the previous three, the third of which being little more than a shell now)

  • Beige Macintosh Plus (Got this during Summer of '10 with a lot of several SEs; this is my first Plus)

  • Apple IIe (Bought from someone on 68kMLA sometime during 2012 for somewhere around $150 I think)

  • Rev. C Tangerine iMac G3 (Bought new in 1998-1999; It was on this computer that I learned what the Macintosh was, and I learned a lot about computers in general with this)

  • Slot Load Tangerine iMac G3 DV (Also bought new in mid-late 1999 or early 2000; I learned about even more stuff with this one, including the Internet, audio recording, and Mac OS X).

That's all I have for now. I actually have a spread sheet I worked on awhile back that I could use here later.

EDIT: Added some forgotten trivia about the Mac 128k, some info about my better Mac IIx, and some reworking for clarity.

Re: cc333's MacShed

I got about as much stuff if not more. but now that I just signed a lease on a small apartment, I gotta downsize. But I digress...

Neat stuffs. Jealous on the IIfx. Almost had one yesterday but turned out to be a bust. But i got my hands on a Q700 so it all works out. Evens the score ;-)

Re: cc333's MacShed

Yes, I jumped on that Mac IIfx as fast as I could, as it was literally the only one I've seen for sale locally before or since. That being said, I'm really glad I got it when I did.

By the way, if that IIx is still there, I'd be interested (the one I got is in rather poor condition and needs a complete overhaul. It'd be better to just get another, I think.)

Good job on the Q700! That's almost as good!

I'll be adding bunches more to this list, so consider this a sort of placeholder.

Re: cc333's MacShed

The IIfx is an awesome machine, but I'd want one with a decent amount of RAM (around 32MB), lol. Between that and IIfx SCSI, while the IIfx is an awesome machine, machines like the IIx, IIci, and indeed SE/30 are much more appealing to me smile

Re: cc333's MacShed

My IIfx has 32 MB of RAM, so I definitely lucked out there!

I'm trying to get a better IIx and an original II to round out my collection.

It is indeed a very nice machine, and it took me a very long time to actually get a working video card for it (jt finally came through after repeated reminders), but it was worth the wait!

I will elaborate on it, and others, when I gather up some information.

Re: cc333's MacShed

OK, not much has happened that is worth putting here, except I recently got another Mac IIx in much better cosmetic condition (complete with HiRes RGB monitor, keyboard, mouse, and a Syquest 44 drive w/ disk!) It needs some cleaning and a recap, but I think I have finally done it!

Also, as I noted in another thread recently, I have gotten my Hackintosh Server project to the testing stage (it's failing so far, more on that later...).
