Question about front fan cables or??

Not sure what this little setup is. I think its the front inlet fan because of location and all other Late 2004 G5's I've seen have an inlet fan. However, I can't seem to find if this is the correct connection for the far or was this cut or is it an antenna. Little help please.

Re: Question about front fan cables or??

That looks to be an AirPort antenna cable, based on the connector.

I'm not sure what the connection for the inlet fan is - but I think I have a copy of the service manual around here somewhere that I can check.

Re: Question about front fan cables or??

Yes, that's the Airport antenna and bluetooth antenna connections.

If you are asking about the "Front Fan Assembly" (the fans in front of the processor), it slid into the case on a rail and mated with a header on the logic board.

There was also a front fan/speaker assembly that was above the Front Fan Assembly and below the optical drive. That had a molex connection.
