Old Apple SCSI Hard Drive connected to G3?

I have a friend that have an Mac +.
To that he has an old Apple SCSI hard drive of the type 20SC connected.
Now his Mac has stopped working.
I have an Mac G3 with IOS 8.6 and a SCSI CD burner connected to it.
Can I connect the 20SC and will the IOS 8.6 find it?
Or do I need an Apple Hard Disk SC Setup Disk?
Or anything else to get the 20SC working in IOS 8.6?

So long as the drive has a unique SCSI ID (and you have termination set correctly) the Mac should find it without requiring any further setup.
