Can you help me rediscover this buried memory?

Hello everyone, I joined this forum just then to ask this question which is important to me. I am now 29 years old...  back in year 6 in 1998 in school we had a mac lab full of these classic black and white macs and I seem to remember some kind of application on these macs which we used in class. I THINK it was some kind of drawing application maybe? I do remember that you could do some special effects with your drawing... like you could do an explosion and you would see an animation of concentric black and white circles expanding from the place you clicked. Sorry if this is too vague... but from this limited amount of information that I can remember (I only just remembered it a few minutes ago and I had totally forgotten it until now) could someone identify what this might have been? Thanks so much

Sure sounds like Kid Pix. It was extremely popular in schools in that era and even into the 2000s.

(Skip to 1:02 for the explosion effect.)

It's available on Macintosh Garden:

Or Kid Pix Studio, the later version with additional features and applications for making animated pictures and special effects:
