I had some diminishing returns going from 333 to 466, but any G3 upgrade on the 1400 is an excellent idea. It really takes off.

Interesting, I've got a Crescendo PB about half that speed in the PartsBook pile, one day I'll have to test the two against each other.

Eh? The Sonnet enabler supports System 7.

I've never had luck with G3 + system7.  Even with enablers that supposedly support it.

Well, yes. Mine runs 9.1 very nicely, especially at 466MHz.

I have the 466 in my Powerbook 1400c, running 8.6.  Has been a terrific combination - fun to use, especially for games and for Classilla (*tips cap to ClassicHasClass*) 

Don't think I've ever tried 7.6.1 on this machine.


--Have an XServe Nehalem, PowerMac G4 Quicksilver, TiBook 400, eMac, a G5 (running MorphOS), MacBook and Mac Mini in regular use. A few others in storage: 2 upgraded Powerbook 1400s, 2 5300ce, XServe G4, a couple of Minis, and a TiBook 867.
