My Classic has Sick Mac screen with all (16) Zeros!!

Hi there,

I have a mac classic that booted to a grey screen (the one pre happy mac screen) and looking at the board itself ... some leaky caps, so I pulled the ROM chip out along with the battery.

and immersed the motherboard in soapy water for an hour according to this video:

I left it to dry in front of a fan from 11pm last night and 12 hours later put it all back together.  Instead of the grey screen now it gave me a sad mac with error number:

      sad

00000000
00000000

that don't seem to match any website I've seen so far which includes:

http://www.gla.ac.uk/~gwm1h/Error_Codes … Codes.html

Any ideas ??

Cheers,

Jeff

The only cure for leaking capacitors is replacement.
