Up yours, Microsoft, taking down all the old Office updaters
I was trying to reinstall Office 2004 on my G5, and guess what? Microsoft no longer offers the Office 2004 updaters for download! (Or, for that matter, anything older than Office 2008.)
Does anyone have any of the updaters? Specifically I'm looking for the 11.6 series (11.6.0 through 11.6.5; I found 11.6.6 in another folder). Several hours of Googleit turned up bupkis.

Re: Up yours, Microsoft, taking down all the old Office updaters
I have all of the 11.6.x updaters up to 11.6.5, if that helps.
How/where do I get them posted for you all to download?

Re: Up yours, Microsoft, taking down all the old Office updaters
bbraun: grabbed 11.6.0 and I'll get the rest. You are a star. cc333, how large are they? Maybe I can set up a dropbox for you on the server here.
I can return the favour to anyone who wants the Office v.X stuff (which is so fast on the G5 it's not even funny), but I usually scrupulously collect updaters and 2004 wasn't anywhere to be found on the file server.

Re: Up yours, Microsoft, taking down all the old Office updaters
I'm not sure of their size off hand, but I can take a look later on.
And I wouldn't mind having 11.6.6, as I'm apparently missing that one.

Re: Up yours, Microsoft, taking down all the old Office updaters
I'm sure that can be arranged. Send me a message. Once I get everything collected, I'll put them up on the Gopher server.

Re: Up yours, Microsoft, taking down all the old Office updaters
Okay, those in the same boat, this is what we have so far:
gopher://gopher.floodgap.com/1/archive/by-request/office-mac-updaters
I added 11.6.6, 10.1.9 and OpenXMLConverter 1.2.1 to bbraun's 11.6.0 through 11.6.2, and cc333 hopefully can get me .3 through .5.
You can consider this location permanent.

Thanks to cc333, the missing installers are added. Use the URL above, or one of these handy shortened ones (Gopher or HTTP same location):

Re: Up yours, Microsoft, taking down all the old Office updaters
Just tried to install these Office 2004 updates and the following DMGs don't appear to be mountable:
Office2004-1163UpdateEN.dmg
Office2004-1164UpdateEN.dmg
Office2004-1165UpdateEN.dmg
Unfortunately I haven't been able to find working replacements for these images yet.

Re: Up yours, Microsoft, taking down all the old Office updaters
cc333, I didn't test these before posting, and it looks like iMic is right. Do you have working versions?
I've removed them in the meantime.

Re: Up yours, Microsoft, taking down all the old Office updaters
Huh. I still have them, I'll go take a look and see if I can get working versions. They shouldn't be corrupt.
Maybe something happened to them when I uploaded them to your server?

It's possible. We can try again. Just let me know if they're good on your end.

Re: Up yours, Microsoft, taking down all the old Office updaters
ClassicHasClass: OK, I just checked out my copies, and only 11.6.3 is apparently corrupt (although the DMG still mounts just fine; I probably have an un-corrupted copy somewhere), so I think something happened to them when I uploaded them to your server.
The next step, then, would be to re-upload them, except I will put them in some sort of container (is .zip okay?) to hopefully prevent more corruption from happening.
So.... I need to remember how to do it (care to remind me? If you're willing, kindly send me an email with the details, and I'll get on it ASAP!)

Re: Up yours, Microsoft, taking down all the old Office updaters
I first want to heartily thank the people here, who've uploaded the MS Office:Mac 2004 updaters. It's absolutely infuriating that MS took down these update files, and it's only thanks to the kind souls here that I've been able to install and update Office on my current hobby-of-the-week MacBook.
So here are the missing updaters for Office 2004, from 11.6.3 to 11.6.5:
https://app.box.com/s/186jqq30525crdanpmbznfdgba8hegg8
These installer files were downloaded from someone's file archive page on a South Korean cloud storage site (U+ Box, run by LG for subscribers to their mobile network in South Korea), that appears to have served the same function for that user, as ClassicHasClass's site. I've scanned the installers with clamXav and nothing's shown up, and I've used those installers to update my own copy of Office 2004 with no incident.
Hope the others here find this helpful!
Edit: Apart from cleaning up the horrendous English on this post, I also realized I posted the wrong download link for the box.net folder; it should all work correctly now.

Re: Up yours, Microsoft, taking down all the old Office updaters
You know, I meant to repost mine (some of which were inexplicably corrupted the first time), and CHC kindly opened up a port for me to upload to his server, and I have been so busy I never got around to doing it, so I'm glad someone else took the initiative to take the pressure off.

Re: Up yours, Microsoft, taking down all the old Office updaters
If someone has them I'll host them. I put the 2004 ones up and I also collected the 2008 ones for when Microsoft shafts them too (I have to upload those still).

No, but the guy has a copy of everything if you "donate" so I sent him a message about it and it got ignored. Oh well...
