My Apple Adjustable Keyboard

Hello, all. Just joined up, and figured I'd introduce you to my newest bit of acquired retro Apple tech. I scored a pretty darn clean Apple Adjustable Keyboard off of ebay, and it arrived in the mail a few days ago, so I took some pictures to share. Enjoy.

I should also mention that the power cords did come included with it, I just didn't want to take and post a picture of those, lol.

Those are hell to actually use, though.

Re: My Apple Adjustable Keyboard

Oh, man, I'd love to get a set of those speakers! The items that I still have on my list to eventually get are;

- Apple AudioVision 14 Display

- AppleDesign Powered Speakers

- Apple LaserWriter Select 360

I already have the following (ALL of which still work perfectly)

- Macintosh Classic (with keyboard & mouse)

- Apple StyleWriter II

- Power Macintosh 7200/90

I am planning to re-whiten my Macintosh Classic and its keyboard/mouse soon.

Re: My Apple Adjustable Keyboard

Yeah, that keyboard is pretty iconic, although as mcdermd said they're pretty annoying to actually use, and the detached number pad, if used, is pretty space consuming.
I love those powered speakers, I use those with my trash can macpro.  The only thing I'd think about replacing them with is maybe some of those square Sony speakers from back in the day.  smile

That would be great!

I do like the weight and feel of the AAK, though. It feels solidly built.

Re: My Apple Adjustable Keyboard

That is a sexy keyboard, but speaking as someone who actually tried to use one back in the day ... well, thank goodness they bought me an AEKII instead after I complained.

Re: My Apple Adjustable Keyboard

Ok Bolian I have a set, but the power supply is not an apple original.  I found a 14 volt with the correct plug, and it works, but I found  15 volt Labtec power supply I was going to put the correct end on.  Shoot me an offer plus shipping and Ill send them your way.  I have not taken them apart to look at the speaker surrounds but they look intact and sound pretty good.

Re: My Apple Adjustable Keyboard

Nice. I've always wanted an Adjustable Keyboard, just a shame they take up a ton of space.

Re: My Apple Adjustable Keyboard

Yours looks very nice.

I've got two of the Adjustables and they're mungier on the keystrokes than even the much maligned AppleDesign. Neither of mine works reliably, I'm tempted to hack mechanical keyswitches into one of them.

I've got the AppleDesign Speakers from back in the day, but they need to be re-coned. They're blown to hell and gone.

Re: My Apple Adjustable Keyboard

Maybe I'm the only guy who actually LOVED using the adjustable keyboard... I loved it so much, I kept it even after a few keys stopped working. Figured I'd learn how to fix that, if possible. Still haven't done that. smile

I never really used the keypad much, though.

Re: My Apple Adjustable Keyboard

Sorry I've been gone a while... issues at work and real life are keeping me busy lately. Nice speaker photos!
