Re: TheMacGuy's House of Macs
I thought so too, but I opened the PSU and noticed nothing wrong. Pretty sure it's just a cold solder joint in the PSU because the rest of the machine is good.

Re: TheMacGuy's House of Macs
So I've gone through a few life changes and kinda fell out of collecting for a while. I'm not going to go back where I once was, but I just had to get these machines. Today, I picked up 2 128k and a Classic. I'm going to work on restoring them over the next few months. The Classic is super yellow, brown actually, but fully working with a hard drive and RAM upgrade card, so I'm going to try and retrobrite it (since It's Always Sunny in Phoenix ). The 128 in the best shape doesn't work. I haven't tried it, but the previous owner said that he could get it to boot but the CRT never showed video. He thinks it's the tube, but I'm thinking it might be the analog board's caps. We'll see. It also has a 25-pin SCSI upgrade, newer ROMs, and a socketed RAM upgrade (most likely 512k). For this one, I'm considering taking the NOS 128k board I still have, and replacing the bad RAM. The working one is, externally, worse, but completely original. The chassis shows some corrosion, but I didn't see any on the logic board.
I'm going to work on cleaning them both up over the next few weeks, and will post pictures as I go along. Wish me luck.
