I need the color classic / LC 520/550 connection pinout.

Techknight is aggressively trying to get to the bottom of the color classic mainboard rot/trace/via/issues.

we are looking for the pinout if anyone can help?

Re: I need the color classic / LC 520/550 connection pinout.

Edge card-MedusaMess interface? There's the adapter diagram for the Takky called frogeye? I've got it at home, but you can search it on 'fritter in the CC section.

eek! 404 http://member.nifty.ne.jp/frogeye/connector.html I've got the graphic on disk at home. I've got most of the Developer Notes available as well. If it's not documented, the harness is cleverly woven together and easily reverse-engineered.

Re: I need the color classic / LC 520/550 connection pinout.

thanks jt!  see what you can find.

i contacted blob from bomarc.  he didn't tell me no,  :-)

what he did say is that it takes him along time.  and that he hasn't done any RE jobs since 2009.

i figured anyway,  it would be kinda nice to have schematics of the Color Classic.   And Classic II.

He kinda gave me the impression that he might do it… and only under certain condidtions.
1. he keeps the board.
2. he can take his sweet time
3. he will want reasonable compensation.

Looks like I'll have to hook up some older drives. Does that link give you enough info to wayback the page?

Re: I need the color classic / LC 520/550 connection pinout.

I looked for this a while back when I was messing with moving a 575 board into a Classic (jt - nudge)

You can easily find the 5xx0 edge connector pinouts, but the CC-575 edge connector is undocumented* on the web (* as far as Google and I could determine together).

It "looks" like the power/SCSI side of the 5xx0 is the same as the cc-575 except upside down.  That's probably is not the case, but it might be a place to start.

Has anyone looked into the testing Apple did using the edge card connectors commonly found on mainboards as a possible means of doing rough checks of subsystems or what not rot?

Re: I need the color classic / LC 520/550 connection pinout.

awesome... blob agreed to work on them at his leisure.

That means i need to muster up a Working
-Classic II
-Color Classic

and send them to BLOB.
if anyone has any working extra's laying around let me know.

obviously they have to be working, in order for him to make proper schematics.
here is his PO box:

Send
any boards to:
   BOMARC SERVICES
     P.O. BOX 1 1 1 3
      Casper, Wyoming  82602
Winter is coming on here, so it is a good time to work indoors.

Re: I need the color classic / LC 520/550 connection pinout.

I guess maybe I'm missing something... if you have a complete chassis around and really want to know the cage connector pinouts, couldn't you just use the cable connector pinouts in the Developer Note and a continuity tester to sniff them yourself? I suppose the monitor-related ones will be tricky, but the others it seems like you could just poke and try...

Flap Different.

I need the pinouts, and exact signal labeling between the CC harness and analog board, i am attempting to chase the soft-start issues.

Hey Charles,
I don't know if you mustered one up, but this guy in Hartford has a Classic II. You can probably tell if the board is OK. You could probably get him to ship just the Board. He says it's still available.

Try working backwards from the CC Hacker Crowd' mods?

http://colourclassicfaq.com/general/vga.html
http://colourclassicfaq.com/highres/

Is this what you need: iMac to CC conversion signals/pinouts

I need to know which pins on the logic board connector contain the standby voltages, the shutdown/startup signals, etc..

Is that included in the Color Classic schematics on your page?
