Off-color Macintosh Color Display M1212

Hi,

I just bought this lot

http://allegro.pl/show_item.php?item=6695304468

which includes a broken Macintosh Color Display M1212. The image has yellow tint and high-pitched tone can be heard from inside the enclosure.

I still haven't received the package (can't wait!) but do you think there is any way to rescue this display?

Ok first its a IIsi it will need battery removal since its working so it probably not exploded.  Next a recap (new capacitors on the motherboard)  If its using on board video, the screen will probably clear up with the motherboard recap.  If it doesnt check the video card caps.  Then you can start to look into the monitor.  Had to work on 3 IIsi's and saved all but 1 that way.

Thank you macdrone. As soon as the package arrives, I'll buy the right capacitors (and battery) and replace them as you advise.

dont need the battery in there, just need to reset the time if you turn it off or unplug it.  Its safer not to have it, then you may have it leak and regret putting one back in.
