OpenMotif for El Crapitan

The IST OpenMotif installer doesn't work on El Crapitan because of SIP restrictions on /usr, so I monkeypatched it to run from /Applications, since I guess I'm the last guy on earth maintaining Motif apps on OS X ... or at least the last one who will admit it. 10.4 or 10.5-10.11, i386 or (natch) PowerPC.

Re: OpenMotif for El Crapitan

Haha, awesome.  You're way more of a glutton for punishment than I am, kudos!

I've been having similar problems for several releases now, and the trend doesn't seem to be improving from my perspective.  I'm not quite ready to throw in the towel, but these days are long gone:

I try to keep an eye on alternatives for a proactive migration before I hit what seems like an inevitable hard-stop.  One thing I've been looking at is the purism laptop.

I remember that ad. Seems rather ironic now.
