Macintosh Display Card 8•24 faint vertical lines

Pretty much what the Subject line says... I've got a Macintosh Display Card and it displays very faint vertical lines on screen, when plugged into my IIci and HighResRGB monitor. It doesn't seem like that should be normal, but maybe it is? There aren't any caps to replace on this, that I can see, so I was wondering if anyone had any suggestion for what may be the issue?

EDIT: Onboard video with the IIci works fine. I've heard this Display card kind of sucks... anyone here agree/disagree?

Do you have a picture of the problem?  I think most of the time vertical lines like that are either bad video memory, or one of the data bus lines to the video memory have a problem.

That's the Toby video card, right?  Those are pretty much the most basic nubus video card made, but still better than losing system memory cycles to the onboard video.

Thanks everyone, I figured it was probably something not worth dealing with at this point. ;-)

Re: Macintosh Display Card 8•24 faint vertical lines

I tried to take a picture of it but it doesn't show up well at all. It's more of a pinstripe issue... not just one line, but many lines a few mm apart. and the lines are slightly darker, not lighter. When I set it to millions of colors, things improve, but at 256 it's pretty noticeable with a grey background.

OK I tried again. This picture kind of shows what I am talking about, albeit it's much more apparent irl. See the thin blackish lines? They are very faint, but they repeat in pinstripe fashion.  They only show up when I use this card.

Re: Macintosh Display Card 8•24 faint vertical lines

i see them super slightly.

i'm not sure what that is buddy... almost looks like some kind of RF interference.
