Re: Cosmo's stuff

Got last week:

Apple /// 128k (european powersupply) inc. Profile I/O card, Serial card.
Apple Monitor ///
Apple ProFile 5Mb

Now looking for RAM chips (12v!) and ROM chips as diagnostics gave errors on several chips on boot.

Re: Cosmo's stuff

Very nice! I'm assuming that you've already removed, cleaned and reseated all of those chips?

Re: Cosmo's stuff

Picked an Apple //c (ROM255) for free but paid some for the transportation & help. Nicely working unit, too bad without PSU, but those replacement PSU's are around for less than 20 bucks.

Re: Cosmo's stuff

Got an donation this week among with:

Apple //c (2 pcs w/possible rom issues but look like they are both ROM 0) - not yet tested
Apple //c monitor w/stand
Apple //c external floppy drive (unknown condition, no cable)
Apple Scribe printers (2 pcs)
+ bunch of Nibble-magazines (1980-1993, only missing 1982 and 1989 year issues), books, manuals etc etc. a lot of stuff.

Really i'm in a limits of having all the space for these all.
In 2016 i really do need to let loose some stuff, starting from PowerMac-era machines (beiges)....

Re: Cosmo's stuff

Finally got the "holy grail" for Apple II's:

Apple //c plus
-Swapped new universal 110-240v power supply to it and it works like a charm! Just need to clean the keyswitches & keycaps now.

Soon can attach it to VGA with the Plamen's (a2heaven.com) VGA-adapter. Oh, so great!

Also received lately an donation of,
two bags (even bags, rainbow apple-logo) of never used, Vintage, 1980's Apple T-shirts and Jackets. Few of those were the famous picasso-logo Macintosh ones (too bad, size "S" and "M").

IIc Plus...international PSU (yes, thats important to us Aussies as well)...VGA...sounds like my idea of heaven! Very nice. Also jealous of the other stuff you got, though can relate on the disappointment on the 80's Apple gear not fitting, I'm a 3XL (2XL in the US) yay

Re: Cosmo's stuff

That powersupply mod on the Europlus (the cable comes directly from the PSU without connector) was interesting.

I asked around and found out that back in the day, when Europlus came to Finnish market, they wanted to get offical approval for the Powersupply and get it tested.
The test result was negative, some parts were not "100% as required" by specs, so they had to modify the powersupply in order to sell the Europlus units. Two guys (wich i
know one) did the modifcations during evenings&weekend and got rewarded an trip to germany, holland and england (inc. two days apple training in holland). They had
great time there smile (obiously, they were about 25 years of age at the time).

Next time they did not seek for approval ... easiler.

About 150 pcs were modified. I've never seen one before even i own few europlus units.

Re: Cosmo's stuff

Latest pickup from a old guy who used to program for Apple II and /// since 1978 (programmer consultant)!

- Apple IIe enhanced (labeled "65c02") PAL these are rare over here, rusty & needs serious cleaning & hope, to run. Board looks pristine just dusty.
- Apple II+
- Duodisk (no cable)
- Disk II (3 pcs)
- Apple II paddles
- Apple II mouse + mouse card
- Exernal numeric keypads (two different type)

+ big bunch of other Apple II cards, magazines (US, UK, GER) and some books & software, manuals etc.

He might have some floppies & other manuals still in storage what he'll check if he finds them still.

Nice!

Have cleaned out collection a bit, have sold most 68k laptops, all LC's, few Amiga's, C16 & VIC20, Atari 2600 PAL (have NTSC heavy sixer) etc. Looking to sell or
donate, more of the desktop duplicates soon (locally).

Re: Cosmo's stuff

The elder gentleman whom i got the //e "65c02" and ][+ etc (previous post) sent me nice set of goodies wich i picked last weekend;

About 50 manuals & books
About 150 floppies (lots of programming tools, code and one program rejected by InCider in mid 80's and ProDOS developer set)
4 original Apple II games

Too bad finding anything Apple /// seems to be close to impossible over here. This guy once programmed for /// and was offered to have one but he didn't take it, it was too ancient at the time when PC's were getting popular in Business-side (he was programmer/consultant etc).

Re: Cosmo's stuff

Bought from USA an Apple //e (early model, Rev.B) with few cards. Great condition.
Fixed the 115V PSU to work on 230V which was quite easy really by removing one wire and replacing the fuse with 2A 250V one.

If only could get Apple /// working LOL as easily.
