Re: All hail the conquering Classilla 9.3.3

I was going to download it on my newly setup 6500, but Well theres a catch. the off-site sourceforge link.

Your site renders awesome on stock IE4.5 on OS9 until it comes time to download. then it barfs because of sourceforge.

any hope to link onsite?

What I'd do is get 9.3.2 on it, and then go get 9.3.3.

Or grab the direct link URL from another machine and feed that to ancient IE or Netscape on the target machine.

@ techknight: Heh! big_smile I bought that one brand new ten years ago, gotta love Sonnetization!

I also snagged a boxed NewerTech VIEWpower 1400/16 for Beater fairly recently, but that will drop the RAM by one card IIRC. One day I'll put an SSD in there and then installing the VidCard won't really matter.

Great news on that config's performance, C. Fabulous work, now I've gotta get Faux9 installed on the 12" AlBook: Beater Mk.IV. wink

Hi jt,
Please do you have a driver for that NewerTech VIEWpower 1400/16 card ? just bought a 1400c with a good screen, to put on another one (together with a VPower 233Mhz G3 card ;p) , and there was that VIEWpower card in it smile But couldn't find drivers on the system… Does it even needs one ?

You're not going to hurt it by doing so...so best way to find out is to stick it in and try it. At worst the OS simply won't pick it up and it won't work.

Re: All hail the conquering Classilla 9.3.3

Actually, be cautious when you remove/install it. You need the replacement screw(shorter) for the upper right hand corner of the heat spreader. The original screw hits the VIEWpowr card. No DIRE Warnings though, it sounds to me like they ran into erratic or non-performance issues reported by users reinstalling the OEM part and added the shorter screw and the half-page "Oh, we need to tell 'em that" Manual Addendum to the shipment package.

No floppy shipped, but it did come with a bonus CD. AFAICT, it's not really a Video "Card" so much as a higher VRAM capacity/RAMDAC upgraded replacement for the optional "Video Card/Frame Buffer." So I'm thinking it doesn't need a driver, it ought to "just work." I'll update when I can find the full manual a/o piccies from the listing.

It came with a bonus CD including The Gauge Series and SPELLTOOLS.

Nice bonus find, galgot! Priceless bit of gold rush that. wink I found a G3 Accelerator in one level of my PartsBook1400/Pile the same way, I was shopping for the OEM Video connector option on the back under the @$$flaplap of every Ch3@p@$$1400 I could lay my grubby little paws upon on the Bay of e. big_smile

Re: All hail the conquering Classilla 9.3.3

Ah thanks ! Just installed it, but though i have the Powerbook video adapter , found out I don't have the correct screen to test it for now.
The shorter screw is missing, But i've tested the placement of the usual one , seem Ok, when screwed completely in place it just touches the upper right border of the card without damage.
Yeah the PB1400c runs beautifully with his new screen and G3 card smile installed OS 7.6.1 and was surprised it could run on G3, very cool. Installed OS 9 too,to run Classilla 9.3.3 ( so i'm not too much OT big_smile).

Cheers
