Holy crap!  =8-O

Disk Utility is still dumber than dirt, but TDM bootup is a start  .  .  .  maybe.

The MDD '03 did not, near as I am aware, but the eMac did. That was the last discrete OS 9 disc produced.

Re: OS 9.2.2 Universal Installer . . .

I got it back then, THX much, uni. But haven't been able to mount/install it, the DVD I burned to disk w/o freezing the system using the Adaptec/UltraSCSI Card/Savvio/Ultra160 setup.

The eMacATI/10.2/Classic Install Set has yet to see the .5GB Laptop Drive, gotta run down my licensed copy of HDT from the Graphite/10.1 era and format/partition the drive on the QS'02 as the next step.

I'll save up some toy money after the family reunion in the Poconos. Then I'll snag myself a 10.4.X Retail Box installer set off the 'Bay.

edit: Having that big MDD booting into 10.4.11 off the tiny 12" AlBook in Target Disk Mode is a sight to behold! smile

Re: OS 9.2.2 Universal Installer . . .

oh ok...  so basically you are trying to make a DVD of the image, but you don't have osx installed on any machine with a burner?
if you need tiger or what have you,  maybe i or dylan could send you some DVD's?

Re: OS 9.2.2 Universal Installer . . .

Should have let me know. I could have sent multiple OS installers on separate partitions of a small, external firewire hard drive.

.  .  .  my clue arrived.

edit: I've got a pair of enclosures. The first one I got 5 years ago and it's a 3.5" & USB2/FW Box. I got another one for skinny little 2.5" drives off eBay for peanuts, but that one I haven't even tried yet  .  .  .

I wish. I found this 2.5" enclosure with a 30gb drive in the 25 cent box at a swap fest.

Re: OS 9.2.2 Universal Installer . . .

Never too late to learn new things JT  :-)

For me, Being in Amateur Radio, now.   I have learned that,  I need to learn ALOT!  lol.
and it makes me feel EXTRA bad because the INFO I need to learn, IS BASIC RF FROM
OVER 100 years ago,   A real Code+Extra HAM has probably forgotten, more then i know right now.

They(FCC) have relaxed the requirements for getting your HAM lic these days.
You do not have to know CW - (Morse Code).

I realized when a Ham Calls you a NO-CODE-TECH.  To them, they are really calling you about the nastiest sware word
there is. :-)

I havent been called that yet… so i plan to not ask too many stupid questions… Because to them… If you ask a stupid question… A Question that you SHOULD ALREADY KNOW due to the level of your LIC requirements.  TECH/GENERAL/EXTRA
They lose all respect for you and consider you as one of those new fangled " CRAMMERS "

These " CRAMMERS " i tell ya lol…   They are the ones that take the online tests a million times and just learn how to take and and pass the ham tests.  — With out acutely learning or knowing anything.

Many of these old timers out there, Laugh, when someone comes to a testing session, Lets say a 19 year old..
and they take the Tech-General-Extra tests and get a perfect score, all in the same sitting…  HA.

Re: OS 9.2.2 Universal Installer . . .

I used to have a good buddy who was a Tube Jockey HAM, an EE, spent his at work time building (outside of purview of Local 3's Cable Pullers) Broadcast centers, Field Units etc. for Black Rock and then had a big part of building the original FOX Studios  .  .  .  he was with BBC last I knew, but his wife was best friends with mine from Jr. High School on so  .  .  .

.  .  .  she got both of them in the divorce settlement. hmm

Old guys rule  .  .  .

.  .  .  but it's always good to be a n00b at something now and again! big_smile

Ya gotta have a good laugh with someone every day  .  .  .
Ya gotta learn something new every day  .  .  .

.  .  .  or you may as well just start diggin' yer hole. smile
